Let's Chat - Bookish Gifts

I have been a bookworm all of my life, and gifting me is easy if you know what books I like to read! Throw in a candle, maybe some bath salts and good bottle of red, and you have me smiling ear to ear.  Actually I think every female book lover out there would thank you for the thought, but maybe you want to be more creative, or different and still stick to the theme.  I am sure that there are other ideas out there for you!

An awesome bookmark goes a long way. Check out these really cool ones that I went gaga over!

As you can see, there are so many creative options if you are looking to gift yourself, or gift a book loving friend or significant other something really cool.  A quick google search will bring up even more great ideas. Book Review - The Vanishing Girl by Laura Thalassa

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20878454-see-through-me

Every night after Ember Pierce falls asleep, she disappears. She can teleport anywhere in the world—London, Paris, her crush’s bedroom—wherever her dreams lead her. Ten minutes is all she gets, and once time’s up, she returns to her bed. It's a secret she’s successfully kept for the last five years. But now someone knows.

A week after her eighteenth birthday, when frustratingly handsome Caden Hawthorne captures her, delivers her to the government, and then disappears before her eyes, Ember realizes two things: One, she is not alone. And two, people like her—teleporters—are being used as weapons.

Dragged off to a remote facility where others like her live, Ember’s forced to pair up with her former captor, Caden, to learn how to survive inside until she can escape. Only Caden’s making escape seem less and less appealing.

But even as Ember falls for the boy who got her into this mess, she knows that she is running out of time. Because the government has plans for those like her, and those plans might just cost Ember her life.

My Review

I hope that I am not the only person, who as a kid with an insane level of imagination, thought about one day being captured by the government because I actually have some unharnessed superpowers... am I? Damn.... Too late to take that back! :)

Any surprise then as to why this novel would interest me? Actually, this novel surprised me. I admit that I picked it up out of sheer boredom with every other genre that I had been reading lately, but didn't expect much. Truthfully, it didn't take long for it to gain my interest as this book started off with some good action that only gained momentum with each chapter. Each of my childhood fantasies come to life, I tell ya, complete with a cute boy to boot... though in my day dreaming, the cute boy was a little nicer in manners and didn't grope me while abducting me.  But such are some YA/NA novels.... gotta love the bad boys!

A little bit of a down side: the big conspiracy had to be spelled out for our female heroine. I mean, I figured it out chapters ago!

Upside: Was not bored a single second. Some hot sex scenes. (Not Young Adult appropriate I don't think). Pretty well written action scenes and as some of you regulars know, I am a visual reader, so this is a great thing!

Pretty enjoyable read. Didn't blow me away, but it definitely entertained me enough that I grabbed the second of the series shortly after!

 I give this one:

Happy reading guys!
