The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beaten the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop.

The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED. Now, twenty years after the Rising, bloggers Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives - the dark conspiracy behind the infected.

The truth will get out, even if it kills them.

My Review:

This was one zombie novel that I wanted to get in my hands for AGES now and never got to it. However, for one Christmas, not that long ago, I got the whole set for my bro-in-law, who loves his zombie novels as much as I do. I did hope to borrow the series from him eventually, so didn't I find myself feeling super lucky when he graciously passed them on to me to read.

YEEEEEESSSS

Did 'Feed' live up to the hype?

As I got through the first 50 pages, I honestly didn't think that it would for me.

This story centers around a group of bloggers in future years, after a viral outbreak that forever changed the world. The zombie apocalypse is not the focus of the story here, they are part of the backdrop. And I thought to myself "Well... I am certainly going to continue being a little bored here."  Add a political campaign, and I thought it was a sealed deal for me... BOOOOOORRRINNNGGG

Wow, I was wrong.

That's right.

I. WAS. WRONG.
(Honey, take a snip of this, I know you want to frame it and point it out to me every chance you get. It's ok. Go ahead. )

Who knew that I would end up devouring the last half of this novel within 1.5 hours?? I think I even forgot to make dinner that day.

The plot sure takes a big turn, and very quickly, you can't put this down. I mean, I loved the characters, especially Georgia and Shaun, but I didn't think this plot would catch up in interest, but it sure did.

Conspiracy indeed. I really have to be vague with you guys to keep this spoiler free, but this novel definitely lived up to the hype. And the ending???

HOLY SHIT. WHAT A TWIST (and knife to the heart).

Let's just say I jumped right into Book 2 of this series.

If you are waiting to read this, don't. Don't wait any longer. You won't be sorry that you curled up with this one. It really was great.

'Feed' is an easy

Happy reading guys!

Pick up the series!

About This Author:
Born and raised in Northern California, Mira Grant has made a lifelong study of horror movies, horrible viruses, and the inevitable threat of the living dead. In college, she was voted Most Likely to Summon Something Horrible in the Cornfield, and was a founding member of the Horror Movie Sleep-Away Survival Camp, where her record for time survived in the Swamp Cannibals scenario remains unchallenged.
Mira lives in a crumbling farmhouse with an assortment of cats, horror movies, comics, and books about horrible diseases. When not writing, she splits her time between travel, auditing college virology courses, and watching more horror movies than is strictly good for you. Favorite vacation spots include Seattle, London, and a large haunted corn maze just outside of Huntsville, Alabama.

Mira sleeps with a machete under her bed, and highly suggests that you do the same.

Mira also writes as Seanan McGuire.
