Cover Reveal - Darkness Watching, by Emma L. Adams

I am excited to be one of the blog posts for this Xpresso Book Tour for the Cover Reveal of 'Darkness Watching'. Emma L. Adams is one of my Goodread's friends, and we have shared some tidbits back and forth on books we liked. So it is pretty cool to help announce the cover of her NA Paranormal novel on Bookluvrs Haven.

BOOK & AUTHOR INFO:

Darkness Watching by Emma L. Adams
(Darkworld #1)
Publication date: September 30th 2013
Genres: New Adult, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy
Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Ashlyn is one interview away from her future when she first sees the demons. She thinks she’s losing her mind, but the truth is far more frightening: she can see into the Darkworld, the home of spirits– and the darkness is staring back.

Desperate to escape the demons, Ash accepts a place at a university in the small town of Blackstone, in the middle of nowhere – little knowing that it isn’t coincidence that led her there but the pull of the Venantium, the sorcerers who maintain the barrier keeping demons from crossing from the Darkworld into our own world.

All-night parties, new friendships and a life without rules or limits are all part of the package of student life – but demons still stalk Ash, and their interest in her has attracted the attention of every sorcerer in the area. Ash is soon caught between her new life and a group of other students with a connection to the Darkworld, who could offer the answers she’s looking for. The demons want something from her,  and someone is determined to kill her before she can find out what it is.

In a world where darkness lurks beneath the surface, not everyone is what they appear to be..
Sounds pretty interesting! If you are on Goodreads, add it to your list because it will be out at the end of September.

Check out this beautiful cover, designed by Curiosity Quills Press who is also the publisher. I just love the color scheme!

Emma spent her childhood creating imaginary worlds to compensate for a disappointingly average reality, so it was probably inevitable that she ended up writing fantasy and paranormal for young adults. She was born in Birmingham, UK, which she fled at the first opportunity to study English Literature at Lancaster University. In her three years at Lancaster, she hiked up mountains, skydived in Australia, and endured a traumatic episode involving a swarm of bees in the Costa Rican jungle. She also wrote various novels and short stories. These included her first publication, a rather bleak dystopian piece, and a disturbing story about a homicidal duck (which she hopes will never see the light of day).

Now a reluctant graduate, she can usually be found in front of her writing desk, creating weird and wonderful alternative worlds. Her debut novel The Puppet Spell, published in 2013 by Rowanvale Books, is a fantasy tale for young adults and the young at heart, inspired by her lifelong love of the fantastical, mythology, and video games. Emma also writes supernatural fantasy novels for older teens and adults. Her next book,Darkness Watching, is the first in the upper-YA/New Adult Darkworld series, and will be published in September 2013 by Curiosity Quills Press.

Cover Reveal - Bad Boy Rock Star, by Candy J. Starr

Does it seem like I am NA obsessed lately? That's because I have picked up and read some really good ones in the past couple of months.  And thanks to Xpresso Book Tours
I have come across another that sounds great. But before we can pick this one up, we have the cover.

Bad Boy Rock Star by Candy J. Starr
Publication date: November, 2013
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

Hannah Sorrento is a princess, the toughest obstacle she's ever had to face is finding shoes to match her outfit. Then her father disappears and she's been left with nothing more than the money in her purse and a contract for the management of hot, indie rock band, Storm.

She thinks she can use them to get some fast money but the lead singer, Jack Colt, has his own ideas and, from their first meeting, sparks fly.

Sound cool? Add it to your Goodreads list so you don't forget to grab it.

Check out the cover, designed by Go On Write.

Sexy!!!
AUTHOR BIO:
Candy J. Starr used to be a band manager until she realized that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. “Screw you,” she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity – totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.

Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She’s seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She’s seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.

But, of course, everything she writes is fiction.

After marriage Nisha comes to a remote village near the mountainous Tibetan Border to lead a life among a nomadic clan who follow a simple lifestyle with customs and rituals dating back to ancient times.

Pravin is happy to marry Nisha, the girl of his choice. Nisha loves her husband but also enjoys the infatuation from his brother. She spends her days happily with a perpetually sad mother-in-law Parvati repenting on her past life sins, a short tempered Shevak, a love-stricken sister-in-law Ria, a kid goat munching everything, a lamb with a baritone bleat and her husband’s brother Diwakar lost in dreams.

Everything goes well until Nisha’s life is torn apart by a proposal, and assumed betrayal, by the one and only love of her life, her husband Pravin when he suggests common marriage, an ancient tradition still followed in this region in which both brothers share a single wife, Nisha. The family is supportive save Nisha who is horrified by the thought of sharing her love with someone for whom she has a brotherly affection.

She cannot protest or disagree as it will make her an outcast and the family will throw her away. Her universe crumbles and she feels humiliated and tormented with the new turn of events. As ancient ways confront modern mores, Nisha will be torn between her values and age-old customs in this brilliantly observed novel of ancestral folkways and contemporary families.

Will Nisha compromise her values… or will she fight the age old traditions?

Loyal Reader Award

I recently got a nice surprise. Into the Deep's Author, Lauryn April dropped in, left a comment on one of my posts and a nomination of the Loyal Reader Award.  Thank you so much, Lauryn!

Due to my unfortunate compulsion to be constantly busy, I wanted to acknowledge the nomination but unable at this time to nominate. I do have a list of bloggers that I visit regularly that deserve multiple awards and I hope that my regular visits and comments let them know how much I appreciate their blogs.

As part of this nomination, Lauryn April posed a question that I will answer.

"If you could have any superpower what would it be?"

Not an easy question, but one that didn't take me long to answer.

TELEPORTATION.

All the way. Being able to teleport anywhere in the world sounds like a really cool super power. As long as you don't land inside a wall somewhere. LOL

What about you guys? What superpower would you love to have and why?

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. I have a lot of cool books lined up this month, and hope you are enjoying some good novels as well.

Happy Reading!

Random Reads - August Pick!

Random Reads is hosted by I'm Loving Books, and for a reader that has a list that is way too long, this meme is perfect. It helps me to pick out a novel in the list that may be sitting there forgotten for a long while.

This meme is pretty simple. The idea is to pick one random book (or more if you are ambitious) out of your Goodreads To-Read list (using Random.org) to read within the month.

My July Random Read was Scarlet, by Marissa Meyer, the second novel in The Lunar Chronicles. I just made it for a July 31st review, which you can read here. After really enjoying Cinder, I was super excited to give Scarlet a read and it was enjoyable. I am really looking forward to the next installment, but will have to wait until 2014!!!!

 Moving on.....

What is my August pick? This one has been sitting around for a while and I was lucky enough to find out that a coworker had a copy. So I got it in my hot little hands, and looking forward to reading this story.

Sounds interesting and completely different than what I have been reading lately. I am looking forward to knocking one more novel off that long TBR List!

If you are participating in the meme, definitely leave your link and August Pick in the comments.

Happy reading everyone!
